Research, to me, is structured curiosity.
I'm a UX researcher with more than eight years in the most technical corners of B2B SaaS: security, cloud observability, and developer tooling. The PhD mostly taught me to stay with a question longer than is comfortable. The first version of a question is almost never the good one.
I lead foundational and generative research in fast-moving domains, where the answer you needed six months ago is not the answer you need now. I care as much about what happens after the readout as I do about the study itself. The study is the easy part. Turning what it says into strategy a team acts on is where most of my time goes.
Lately I've been building the capacity itself. I design systems and AI tooling that let a whole team run a study properly, and I grow communities of practice where researchers and designers pick each other's work apart. The point is that the research keeps happening when I'm not in the room.
I hold my opinions about craft loosely. I'll take being wrong in public over being vague enough that nobody can check me, and vague is always the easier option. The best interviews I've run are the ones where I stopped talking early and the person told me the thing I didn't know to ask about.

Lead UX Research Strategist
- Lead foundational and generative research for the Security Lifecycle Management space, and use it to shape product strategy in a technical domain that keeps changing under us.
- Scale research capacity by building a Senior UX Researcher Agent in Claude and IBM Bob, so designers run and synthesize their own studies with minimal guidance.
- Optimize participant recruitment pipelines. Started a UXR community where researchers share what worked in practice.
- Mentor junior researchers toward the kind of complex work that usually gets handed to someone more senior.

Senior UX Researcher
- Strategic research lead for Cloud Observability and AI Agent products, working with senior leadership to shape the long-term design vision.
- Led a 4-person team on the MPU Program, a mixed-methods study of 293+ enterprise accounts. It surfaced core Jobs-to-be-Done gaps and redefined the 12-month Cloud Monitoring and AI strategy.
- Ran foundational research on AI agents that uncovered the testing and evaluation pain points behind a new GCP product. That de-risked it and cut developer time-to-production.
- Earlier, as UX Researcher IV, paired survey data with interviews to redesign Metrics Explorer: 88% preference, 89% private-preview opt-in. Also simplified the query tool, which cut query-building time by 32%.

- Designed and ran a 4-week longitudinal diary study with enterprise participants to evaluate the Quay UI. It surfaced the "blue sky" opportunities for its dashboards.
- Doubled research capacity across the org by teaching designers and product partners recruitment and evaluative methods.

- Built the research practice from scratch and led it for InsightIDR and MDR, the highest-NPS products in Rapid7's portfolio as of 2020.
- Research on a new network traffic feature pinpointed three primary hurdles. Fixing them dropped customer failure rates 25% and lifted satisfaction 13%.

Human Behavior Researcher · PhD
- Designed studies on the mechanisms of human behavior (empathic negotiation, accuracy in reading personality) and directed a team of three.
- Applied multilevel models, ANOVAs, and regression to messy real-world data. That is where I learned to trust a number only as far as the design behind it.
